Welcome to municipacity Polaki and feel the untouched nature of the Osogovo Mountains. This is the place where the nature kept it's unique, untouched beauty.
The villages are small, but have a lot to offer.
Welcome and for a moment forget about your constant worries. Enjoy the piece and scilence that are disturbed only by the birds and the clear, fast rivers that runs through. Ecologicly clean environment and healthy surroundings are some of the reasons why people visit our villages. People come to rest, for picnic, to recreate, for hunt...
You will meet the hospitable locals and you'll get to know their authentic way of life. Everything here is ecological and natural. They will welcome you with warm schnaps, sheep cheese and cold spring water. If you have time, you must taste local specialites: Osogovski bodenik and Osogovski bakardan.
The village infrasttructure has been improved over the years - ever house is electrified, two aquaducts "Polaki 1" and "Polaki 2"have been built. Also, an asphalt road, 14 km long has been built and it runs from the town of Kocani to the village. The reconstruction of "Sv. Spas" monastery made this part of Macedonia very popular.
There is a legend about this place that is passing from one generation to other. In the past centyres the plague took many lives. To defend themselves from this evil the villagers surrounded the village with furrow made by wooden plough that was pulled by two oxes - twins. It is bellived that people protected themselves by doing that.
We consider that this part of uor country is not used enought, and has a lot more to offer. We need big investments.
